Our property dates back to the early 18th century when it was originally a 150-acre homestead, purchased by Samuel Haines from Cadwallder Colden some time before the Revolutionary War. Throughout most of the 18th century, during which Orange County New York was renowned for its dairy industry, the farm was used primarily for butter production. As time progressed and the property shifted ownership, the cow barns were converted to house and raise poultry, which are still evident today. This property remains a prime example of a farmstead that has evolved over two centuries, with the earliest components of the farm still intact.

Today, Colden Springs Farm continues the agriculture tradition as a working livestock and vegetable farm. We grow vegetables on half an acre, and also raise chickens, pigs and beef cattle. From May through October, you can find us at the Pine Bush Farmers Market or the Rosendale Farmers Market, selling our quality meat, vegetables, and eggs. We love growing food for our community!
